Ms. Gerri Morrison is a dynamic vocalist who has performed in Australia, Bangkok, Israel, Norway, Singapore, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Born in Alabama and raised in upstate New York, Ms. Morrison is said to have been able to recognizably hum an entire song before she was even able to talk. At the age of eight, she began to realize her musical abilities after finding enjoyment composing songs on a toy piano given to her as a Christmas gift. While in her teens, volunteering to replace an ailing lead vocalist in her church choir, helped her secure confidence in her abilities. But it was her participation in musical theatre during college that decisively set the course for her pursuit of a singing career.
Ms. Morrison has appeared in such theatrical productions as Ain’t Misbehavin’, Bubblin’ Brown Sugar, Godspell, Purlie and The Wiz. Her 3 1/2 octave vocal range allows her to sing various music from Broadway and classical to gospel, jazz and r&b. An avid sports fan, she also performs the National Anthem at professional and collegiate sporting events. Her live performances have ranged from fronting small jazz combos to appearing with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra. She was once voted “Best Voice in Syracuse” by Central New York’s New Times magazine. After relocating to the Washington, D.C. area, she stepped away from the stage to focus exclusively on the business side of the entertainment industry. And now, with renewed vigor, Ms. Morrison steps back to the microphone to share her phenomenal gift.
